Excellent book for parents and children

“Mommy, I wet the bed”

Mommy, I wet the bed, are words that most of us Moms are familiar with. Not that we want to hear it but, it reality in most of our lives. When my daughter was a bit younger she had an accident and her response was “Mommy I sweat all night” It is common for children up to the age of eight years to remain dry during the day but, wet the bed frequently at night, this called primary nocturnal Enuresis. This unfortunately the most common form of bedwetting.

It is recorded that bedwetting occurs mostly in boys than girls and the child will more likely be a bed wetter if one parent was as a child.  The expert states that 15% of children that wet the bed will grow out of this set back. Very rarely bed wetting is caused by any physical problems. Many times it’s due to the child having a small bladder and not being able to detect when the bladder is full. Maybe the problem is, the child is having difficulties waking up from sleep. Children at a young age tend to be deep sleepers and sometimes it takes a horn to wake them. Something else to think about is the stress factor in the child’s life, how are they coping at home and at school? Is there anything different taking place or is anything on the horizon? And, last but not least there maybe a medical issue, which should be checked by a health professional.

Some Solutions

It is important for the child not to be punished or made fun of for bedwetting. A reward program should be set up for dry nights and the child should be allowed to change the wet sheets off their beds.

Refrain from giving the child fluids at night and ensure that the urinated right before bed and if possible before you go to bed.

No caffeine products such as chocolate or cola drinks during the latter part of the day.

If your child is okay wearing a disposable under pants then, go right ahead and give them the option.

Have the child do a physical examination by their health professional, it something is medically wrong it will be discovered and treated accordingly.

Healthy eating for chilren blog

It is known that 75% of the body is composed of water.  This amazing liquid do powerful work including fat burning and keeping the body hydrated. Which is especially crucial for children that run, skip and play, their bodies will require more water to hydrate it.

It is a tragedy that many children are living without sufficient water as part of their daily life, which is not what healthy eating for children consists of. A healthy eating diet is eating fruits, vegetables, protein, grain, nuts and water.

Many times children would be playing and thirst set in but, do they run and have a glass of water? The answer is no. The may go and have a glass of some sweet fizzy drink or may have sugar laden artificial juice. The importance of water cannot be stressed enough, “it is the single most variable in lifelong good health and top performance” states Michael Colgan  Ph.D.

Many times we as adults are thirsty and we misinterpret it as hunger when actually we are not. In that case we might reach for a snack or tend to over eat when actually a tall glass of water would have done the trick. With that we end up putting extra calories in our thirsty bodies with no water to flush the excess fat out. Healthy eating for children consists of consuming sufficient water on a daily basis so, important that adults set example for children.

Healthy eating for children may include having several good sources of liquid available on hand to quench thirsty. Plain bottle water with a splash of lemon is enticing and will have them drinking more water, Freeze water into cubes and the children could munch on it throughout the day, lemon and is a great way to get fluids in them and making ice cold smoothie will get them to drink.

Healthy Hands, Healthy Life

Ever wonder how old a person is? Well, there are definite give away signs that can put a number or range on a person’s age. Most times the face is well cared for with the use of sunscreen and moisturizers, but the hands and neck are usually left staving for a bit of love and attention. One glance at those hands and the person’s age can usually be told and the neck will usually boast blotchiness and sagging. A healthy life usually consist the taking care of both inside and the out of the body.

Hands Up

However, have no fear because, there is hope in the stores.  There are items available at the local pharmacy that great reduce the embarrassing look on the hands with out you spending an arm and a leg. As age creeps up so does the age spots and not very pretty I may add. Use a small amount of hydroquinone to lighten the spots until they disappear. Hydroquinone is one of the most effective bleaching agent.  Although there have been some controversies about the product in the UK and Asia, the FDA has been researching it; and has deemed it safe for use. Follow the instructions for best results.

Every wanted smooth and plump hand, but thought it was impossible. Well, not any more. One way to start treating your hands to incorporate with your healthy hands is to peel away the fine lines. One way to achieve this is to apply a AHA mask and at-home peel. Apply to the hands, slough off dead skin and help speed up cell turn over. This will allow new cells to grow and make the skin look young and smooth.

An old fashion way of getting looking health is to lather hand with Vaseline at night and put on plastic gloves. In the morning wash hands and qpply hand lotion, do this for about one week and hands will be like babies bottom.
