Healthy Bran Muffins and ideas of healthy snacks
You or your child can not drink enough water. I find that water consumption is at a minimum in the winter months but, it is necessary to drink water. It keeps us hydrated, flushes our bodies of toxins and fat and it keeps the cells healthy.
For many people it is hard to decipher between boredom and hunger, it is best first to drink a glass of water and wait 15 minutes, keep active so boredom does not set in. If hunger still persists, then it is the time to have a healthy snack.
Examples of healthy snacks are as follows:
Low fat yogurt with a serving of fruit
Red bell pepper strips with hummus
Bran muffin/glass of skim milk, almond milk or soya milk
An apple with 1 oz low fat cheese
1 slice whole wheat bread topped with a slice of mozzarella and two slices of tomato/broil optional
Amish bran muffins
41/2 cups lour
5tsp baking soda
2tsp salt
2 tsp allspice
3 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup oil
2 tsp. vanilla
4 cups(1quart) buttermilk
1(20 oz) box raisin bran
