Healthy Snacks for Children
It is no doubt children love eating snacks and that is very normal. Snacks keep children from becoming too hungry at meal time and that will eventually lead to over eating, which tends to lead to overweight. However, the type of healthy snacks for children that would keep them from overeating is one low in fat high in protein, with lots of vitamins and wholesome carbs.
High fiber wholewheat fruit tortilla roll up
Whole wheat tortilla
apple slices
chunky peanut butter
Raisins
1)Spread peanut butter on tortilla
2)Place four slices of apples on peanut butter
3)Sprinkle with raisins
4)Roll up tortilla up and cut in halve
Serve with a glass of cold milk
Assorted fruits with nutty dip
Assorted fruits cut into bite size chunks
(apples, pears, cantaloupe and strawberries)
1 cup 1/3 less fat cream cheese
2 tblsp caramel sauce
2 tbsp chopped walnuts
Add caramel sauce and walnut to 1/3 less fat crem cheese and combine well.
Serve fruits on a plate or in a bowl with a generous dollop of nutty dip.
Adults will enjoy this as a snack also.
Note: If fruits are going to be prepared before hand please, dip in lemon juice to keep from turning brown.
