The Goodness of Water for children

Over  the several years several beverages have gotten the lime light with consumers and have gone on to become stars in there own right. Beverages like coke and milk are still popular today due to the advertising concept that were used  to promote them. In the 1970′s it was the gingle perfect harmony and in today’s day it is celebrities with milky moustache.

The time has  come for water to get the full recognition that it deserves, after all water is a soruce of life. The human body can survive quite a few days without food but  cannot stay the same amount of time without water.  It is said that water is essential to good health. Water is important to the proper functioning of the body,  it is fluid to the body. Every cell and organ in the body need water for functioning and survival, the brain is made up of 95% water. Having good water health can reduce the risk of colon cancer by 45%, reduce the risk of bladder cancer by 50% and some researchers think it can help in reducing the risk of breast cancer.

Children should be consuming water on a daily basis, at least  half of their body weight in ounces. Example a typical 6 year weighing 48lbs should be drinking 24 ounces, which is about 3 glasses of water. A good indication that your child is consuming enough water is their urination should be clear and no constipation.

Things to remember

Drinking other liquids are great to drink but, keep it free from sugar.

Consume less sugary drinks

Making ice tea is great
